Sunderland Mind is a local independent charity which works with people experiencing emotional or mental health issues in Sunderland. They have a space they want to use to support older people but the acoustics aren’t suitable.
Trish Cornish, their Business Development Manager writes:
“We have recently taken over the lease of a new building in order to increase our offer of support to the wider community, in particular engaging with the older population to help address the high levels of social isolation.
“We are offering Tea Dances and different activities which will encourage new friendships and we can also help them engage in new wellbeing activities. But the hall is currently unwelcoming as the roofing boards are open, the acoustics are really bad, and older people may struggle.”
